Customer Reviews
Well what can I say fantastic food barsIf you are a fitness person who are always doing stuff then the chocolate coconut bars are great too have on the goLovely tasteJust a great snack barAlso fantastic for health as the bar contains all you need for on the goI recommend
Overall these chocolate protein bars make a decent snack option when I want something quick that still ticks the protein box. The texture is crisp and light, with clean layers of wafer, coconut cream and a thin chocolate coating. They’re not overly sweet, which I appreciate, and they manage to satisfy a sweet craving without the sugar crash I’d get from a regular chocolate bar. Each bar has just 0.8g of sugar and over 9g of protein, which is a solid balance.Flavour-wise, the coconut is there but not overpowering. It adds a nice tropical note without being too much, and the chocolate complements it well without tasting artificial. That said, they are very dry, and I find they stick to the roof of my mouth a bit, so I usually need a drink alongside them. They also have that familiar protein taste that tends to linger, especially towards the end of the bar.I like that they’re not too dense or heavy, unlike some other protein snacks, and I can eat one without feeling weighed down. They’re handy for work or post-gym, and while they’re not the most indulgent or flavour-packed option out there, they do the job. The only downside for me is the high saturated fat content, which I’m severely conscious of (I do think that is because coconut itself tends to have high saturated fat and that's what's probably driving the levels up), and the fact they can be a bit messy if eaten on the go.
These wafers are crisp and creamy all at once, with a light, airy crunch that gives way to a slightly chewy, nougat-like richness, just enough to soften the bite and add a bit of satisfying substance. The milk chocolate coating melts smoothly on the tongue, bringing a mellow, buttery flavour that leans more towards creamy milk than deep cocoa. There is a light trace of vanilla weaving through, subtle enough to lift the flavour without overwhelming it.They carry a soft coconut aroma, just enough to lift the senses, while the overall sweetness stays restrained and well-judged.You can tell they are made to be lighter: less sugar, more fibre, compared to traditional wafers, and that comes through in the taste. There is a soft, layered mouthfeel, with moments of creaminess and the occasional delicate flake of grated coconut that gives a lovely textural lift.In essence, it is a protein snack dressed up like a dessert …crunchy, creamy, coconutty, and just indulgent enough to feel like a treat.Happy to recommend!
These came in a plain cardboard box, just loose inside it. A simple design for the packaging as well. The bars themselves are quite nice though, if not a little dry in the mouth. There is a lack of sweetness being added and I think that's a good thing for those of us who don't particular like overly sweet or are aware of the taste of sweeteners (like my hubby). The chocolate tastes a little bitter, seems to be a darker chocolate and gives it a little sweetness on the edge, but coupled with the desiccated coconut, and wafer, the 'cream' filling does little to get the mouth juices going, if anything dries them up pretty quickly. It's a nice feeling though, and does stop you eating it too fast.Unfortunately, if you're the type of person that craves sweet treat as part of your protein bar post workout, this probably isn't the one for you. It's a far cry from the tradition chewy whey based protein bars, but if you are looking for something a little different it's worth check out.
The coconut flavor inside is noticeable but not overpowering, giving it a lovely tropical twist without being sickly sweet. The wafer texture is light and crispy, Either a softness of coconut cream! The "low sugar" claim also holds true; they don't taste overly sweet, and I don't get that sugary rush and then crash that I do with regular chocolate bars. They satisfy my sweet tooth without making me feel guilty, and they genuinely leave me feeling more sustained than a regular biscuit or chocolate bar would.
i love wafer based snacks and most of the snack bars i eat these days are ones with added protein so i was really excited about trying these as on paper they really do tick a lot of my boxes. personally I find them to have a strange slightly chalky texture which i think is the coconut element at work.but taste is subjective and surprisingly other members of my household actually enjoy these greatly and are very happy to not have to share them with me.my personal score is closer to a 3/5 but i'm told they're a solid 4.5 by my family so i think a 4/5 is a fair shake.
These are really enjoyable. They taste a bit like Blue Ribbands, but have a richer, smoother taste. The coconut is subtle, and just sprinkled on top of the bars, so it's not overpowering. I found it complimented the chocolate and wafers really well. They're sweet, but not too sweet. They're pretty big bars, too. Certainly much bigger than a standard Blue Ribband bar. Obviously they're a bit healthier too, with way less sugar. Very good.
I really like the flavour on this, I think they are very delicately balanced with enough coconut to provide flavour but without being so much that it's overwhelming. The chocolate is relatively light and I would say is more of a coating than a flavour. There's a decent amount of protein per wafer, and because each wafer is very very lightweight, you could probably stuff three or four of these throughout your day and you wouldn't even notice but you would hit your protein requirements easier. However the only thing I find tricky is that the wafers extremely dry, And it will stick to the inside of your mouth.
These are a quite tasty wafer bar with a slightly odd texture but they are a nice snack and taking into account the nutritional information for each bar, not a bad snack either! The dark chocolate coating has a nice depth of flavour but it is very thin so there’s not much taste added to the bar, this has been lightly coated in coconut but again, this has little taste, it seems more for texture or decoration. The wafers are nicely crisp and the ‘creme’ between them has a very light coconut flavour but is quite dry and powdery, once I had chewed it however and it mixed with saliva, it kind of foamed up in my mouth and became more palatable. They are nice bars but they definitely need a drink with them for me.
These are really nice bars - they don't taste overly like protein bars - they really are just like wafers which happen to have extra protein in. My only disappointment (as I love coconut) is that I struggle to taste the coconut, but it means the bars are also good for people who aren't fans.
